Just wondered if there are any recommended car mats? I've had a look around on eBay/Amazon seems there are plenty to choose from but always wonder about quality and fit. I came across a Copen dog guard during my search..... I'd like to see that installed http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00NSL56TI
It's amazing what you find on ebay etc. for Copens a lot of the mats get advertised as a set of 4! I got my original mats from SG Petch on line but they don't seem to do them any more. A daihatsu dealer may be able to order them but that might work out expensive. Mine are just plain black with a red Copen logo so you could probably find something just as good for less money elsewhere. If you type car mats into the search bar at the top on here you will find a few threads with pictures of mats others have bought, it may help you narrow down the ebay options!
You could have Copen embroidered on these http://www.cyberspares.co.uk/prod.php?prod=1179 Edit: like this! https://www.copenworld.com/community/threads/custom-car-mats.2089/#post-11653
These look like mine - but mine are cleaner In the photo they don't look too bad a condition under the spiders webs!! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/like/Daih...55933&clkid=200532470473971168&_qi=RTM2065544
So I took the plunge and ordered a super deluxe set, with extra rubber heel pad and embroidery for £58.18 from Cyberspares.co.uk They arrived today and I can't say I'm blown away by the quality, especially the stitching around the heel pad. Do you think I'm being overly picky?
Hmm, I share your viewpoint, the stitching is a little off considering the price. I paid £28 for mine and they are just black and red, fit the car perfectly and a good investment. Sorry to be blunt, but I don't see a £30 improvement in yours pal. Unless your name is Horace, then the embroidery is strange.
Apart from the custom logo which was £9.99 (Horace is the name my wife gave the car), I can't see these are any better than what I could have got for under £30.
He is indeed.... due to the number plate ending in ELO, so the my wife name the car Copen after Horace Wimp.
I can see what you mean about the stitching but the embroidery looks great and you won't notice the stitching when they are in the car - it's just because you are looking at it close up!
I put them in the car when Horace returned home tonight and they fit perfectly. They do look great. Feeling better about them now Hopefully this has been a useful consumer report for Team Copen I'll post pictures of them fitted tomorrow.
Just a warning to anyone looking for some custom car mats for their Copen, I wouldn't recommend carmats2u.co.uk. I wanted the Copen logo on my mats, double checked that they could do it before placing my order and was told 'No problem'. The mats I chose with the customisation cost just over £50 but they arrived with a bog standard 'Daihatsu Copen' in a standard font. When I complained the owner said it was against their policy to use copyrighted logos/images and that I hadn't attached an image to my order (not true). When I challenged him, he changed his story to the fact that he couldn't get the image link to work. After many messages to & fro, I decided the easiest way forward was to give the option of a full refund or a partial refund for the customisation element of the mats (10.99). I had to escalate the problem to PayPal and hopefully I will be getting a partial refund...from his customer service I have received to date, I was worried that I would end up sending the mats back and that he wouldn't refund me so at least I have ended up with 'A' pair of mats to protect the original carpet.
Buy a set of these on Yahoo: 2UPJ-33917800] Copen (L880K) floor mat used : Real Yahoo auction salling Even if the mats are rotten, the cast metal badges are the prizes. You can order any kind of aftermarket mats you want and badge them. (note, if you don't have shop tools and skills, you may need the help of a mechanic to swap the badges.)
