Iv had a problem with my boot for a couple of months. Basically one day when opening the boot it was like the boot release button was jammed on for a minute straight just clicking over and over again before stopping, since then when pressing the button i just get no response whatsoever and the roof open light is switched on all the time. if anyone has any idea what that might be i would much appreciate it at first i thought it might be a fuse but it turns out I'm clueless!

My biggest problem at the moment is that I cant actually get into the boot even with the manual boot release. I pull the cord and the boot catch releases just fine but the boot wont lift up it is like the top end of the boot is hooked down by something, is this normal or is there a problem with my manual boot release or do i simply just have to do more than just pull the boot release cord?

    can anyone help me?

Does the roof open? I'm guessing not.
Is the roof warning light on?
You could try disconnecting the battery for a few minutes and see if that resets the roof ECU. Although it shouldn't stop you opening manually.

Thanks for the reply. The roof doesnt open and the roof warning light is on, i will try that tonight. The manual boot release works i just cant lift the boot and further than about 5cm it feel like its hooked down still at the far end of the boot.

I maybe wrong but don't you also need to pull the two blue hairpins.

Used to have a White Copen, but I sold it in 2023
They are under the back shelf (the one close to the back window). You have to get the plastic pins out (by pushing in on the small middle portion, which releases them) and then you can lift it up. There should be one blue latch on each side of the car, after pulling them it should unlock. Just read the owners manual :D
