Hi, Rosie has quite alot of rust patches on here and so I am thinking about doing so work on her over the winter. I have read alot about rust proofing on the forum, where to look etc and what to use, but what I want to known is it something a complete amature can do?
Id say rust proofing/prevention is easy to do yes. Actual rust treatment is going to require basic welding & fabrication skills and a bit of courage too because when you start poking out all the rusty old metal, chasing it back to something solid you never know whether youre going to have any car left
Have a look at this link https://www.copenworld.com/community/threads/rust-protection.535/#post-12492 I think doing it properly yourself isn't too hard but is time consuming and messy! I think I'm going to get mine done professionally just so I know it is all done properly.
