Wow, Badger - that's a bit more like it!! Just ready for that idyllic waft down the country lane on a sunny spring day, daffs nodding their heads in a gentle breeze, missus enjoying the sheer thrill of top-down motoring, when .... by magic .... the perfect country pub hoves into view around the corner. Aha!
Wow Jules you are a real romantic. You've defined the true essence of Copen motoring.....and I like the sound of that perfect Cumbrian pub!
looking absolutely sparkling there! good job! cant wait to polish mine up after a few adjustments, got the service due this weekend - very nervous about what they could find. Previous owners - le sigh....
yeah ish, noticed someone has opened their door on me as they gave it a quick wipe and in the blinding sun i noticed a slight ding..... honestly F!!!!!!!! the car is small enough not to open your door onto it. makes me mad. previous owners were idiots, I had a an oil leak because a washer was missing, thankfully i had enough oil not to do damage... but makes me wonder where they got it serviced and other things about the car I have noticed. but moving on as I hate moaning too much... Brighton was fabby! and guess what I spotted a copen and I thought it was you because it was 10 years old and those alloys were spotless!
Oh no! Soooo annoying when some idiot dents your pride and joy no, wasn't me in Brighton, I was toiling in the garden. Good you got the service done - enjoy the weather
garden looking pretty then? at work today so didnt get to enjoy the weather but did drive to work with my roof down which makes a difference
Old Badger, You mentioned your alloys had been refurbed. Could you say what £ cost was? I noticed today that the coating was breaking away around the tyre valves on two of the wheels which amazed me as I thought alloy wheels were just that - ALLOY! I had no idea they painted them as well. Ned
Hi Ned Yes the alloys are coated and they start to corrode under the coating. Then you see bubbling. This is what happened to mine around the valves plus a few scratches from kerbing, etc. The refurb cost me £70+vat per wheel. The wheels are "diamond cut" which is more expensive to refurb (no I don't know what it means ). They did a fantastic job, the wheels are just like new and they're 10 years old
There are lots of places that will refurb alloys - just check that they do "diamond cut" wheels - not everywhere does as it requires specialist equipment. Also try and look at some reviews or recommendations. Where about a are you based? I had my wheels done here http://alloyart.co.uk And would definitely recommend them.
Hi thanks Clare, I'm in East Sussex. Old Badger's not that far from me so thought the place he used might be a possibility. Yes would be good to go somewhere that a copen owner has used.
Hi Mymblesdaughter! Old Badger here! I got my wheels refurbished at Diamond Alloys. They are based in Northolt, which was a bit of a drag to get to (I took the train!). But they do a really amazing job. Their website is http://www.diamondalloys.co.uk/ I used them again for my other car's wheels and was really pleased with them too. Best regards OB
